Some Pictures of the way I root babies hair ~ as you can see by
the photos I am comfortable rooting the hair either thin or with lots of curls!

Below I show different pictures
of the " just like baby skin" soft Moleskin bodies I make. I realize the word
"Moleskin" is not a very appealing term when talking about materials I use for
my babies but it's the best material I have found. I am using a play doll,
Betsy, that I have made for a little girl, for the model.

The above picture gives
you a full shot showing how well the body is in proportion to the head, hands
and feet. I customize the body pattern (if needed) to fit each doll kit
individually.

If you'll notice in the picture
above you can see the bar tacks I put on the inside of each knee (and elbow) so
that they will bend naturally when seated or posed in any position.

I sew a wrinkled rump in the
bodies.

I have been sewing doll bodies
for 5 years now and am comfortable making any alterations necessary so my babies
look as realistic as possible.
Beautiful Babys Nursery is dedicated to ongoing
research for the most up to date procedures and materials for reborning
techniques.
I use the highest quality materials available, assuring
our adoptive parents that they are receiving a baby that they can trust to
be the finest possible anywhere.
Baby layette items that are designed and sewn at our
center are of quality cotton knit material and any designer layette items
for baby are bought new and with each individual baby in mind.
Our babies develop their own individual little
personalities as they process through the steps of reborning and their
personal items which are included with them have been bought especially
for them with this in mind.

~ THE REBORNING PROCESS ~

A Before and After Picture of
the Same Doll
Let me explain what we do here in
our nursery. When a new baby arrives here the first thing we do is to
remove all factory paint and then clean the vinyl to prepare it for the
paint. If we plan to root the head instead of applying a wig we remove the
mold lines and sculpt the head which gives it a natural smoothness.
On most of my babies I use the
Genesis Heat Set Paints to color the vinyl. This process takes 5 to 6 very
thin layers of different shades and hues, setting each layer with
heat before adding the next layer. Very light veining is done on the
eyelids, forehead, hands, feet and temples.
We use either Doe Suede or Moleskin material to sew the
cloth bodies. There are several different bodies and depending on the type
of doll used we make the best body to match that doll giving you a very
realistic baby!
The fingernails and toenails are painted in a very light
shade of pink and than tipped in an ivory shade. They are triple sealed
for durability.
The babies lips are also painted a light shade of pink
and sealed. This sealer is also used after opening the babies nose to give
it a wet look.
In our awake babies the eyes are usually changed and a
nicer Eyeco Polymer or Real eye is inserted through the front of the face.
Eyelashes are attached and little wispy fine eyebrows are hand painted. If
the baby is an asleep one we usually root the eyelashes.
We fill the limbs with ULTRA FINE
GLASS BEADS then seal them to prevent any leakage. The cloth body is weighted
with the same ULTRA FINE GLASS BEADS sealed in cloth bags. The baby is than assembled and
ready for her little undershirt and diaper. We dress him/her and they are
laid in the bassinet or cradle to wait for adoption.
